I fell in love with the Northern Lights the moment I captured them for the first time on 12/8-24. Since then, I’ve chased every chance to witness them from my mid-latitude home in Denmark. Thanks to the solar maximum of 2023–2025, it’s been possible recently to catch auroras even at mid-latitudes. Here, the lights are more subtle than in the far north - Sometimes they burst into vivid, breathtaking colors, but more often, they lend a gentle glow to the landscape, offering endless opportunities for meaningful and serene compositions. In this album with focus on keeping a balanced artful, but as much also "documentary" approach possible. Editing done subtly with respect to highlighting the actual colours that were there, and emphasizing individual fine details of the Aurora in place. White balance was chosen based on the current moon phase and its known effect on WB. Individual images order is placed chronologically from captured time related to the current event. All images are single exposures unless stated otherwise. No elements are arranged in the field, and generative AI is never used to add or fabricate content.
